I suppose I'm not really that much of a friend of Betacam SP, being a senior tape operator for 4MC. From my (and my colleagues') point(s) of view, SP pretty much sucks in comparison with Digibeta. SX is an incredibly cost effective format. A DNW90WSP,set up well & graded will offer almost as good as DigiBeta pictures. Don't look for extreme SDI generation ability. The format falls apart at round 13gen
