I first got my hands on Betacam VTRs when I started work for a post production facility in London. My experience was to involve carrying DNW-A500's all around the building. I soon found out that Betacam machines weigh a lot more than domestic VCRs. Still I have a very fond spot for a format which uses cassettes the same size as my favourite format Betamax. Like all Sony VTRs the Betacam range of machines are well designed and easy to service even if the parts cost a lot more than their domestic friends.
